RoboCupJunior USA Registration
Use this form to register a team to compete in the RoboCupJunior USA Championship on May 21, 2017 at the Horace Mann School in the Bronx, NY.
AGE REQUIREMENTS
RoboCupJunior is targeted for primary and secondary school students. All students are expected to be able to design, construct and write programs for their robots on their own, without significant help from adult mentors. Each League is divided into age brackets based on the ages of the team members.
Primary Age Bracket (used for Lightweight Soccer, Rescue Line and OnStage):
All team members must be no younger than 11 and no older than 14 on July 1, 2017. For Rescue Line and OnStage in the USA, 8-10 year old students are allowed to join primary teams, but they will not be allowed to continue with the team if it is invited to participate in the RoboCupJunior 2017 international championships in Nagoya, Japan.
Secondary Age Bracket (used for Lightweight Soccer and OnStage):
The Secondary Age Bracket is for older kids, ages 15 to 19. If a team has mixed ages (i.e. both primary and secondary aged kids), they will be allowed to compete in the Secondary Age Bracket. All ages are determined as of July 1, 2017.
Open Age Brackets (used for Standard Weight Soccer, Rescue Line, and Rescue Maze):
All team members must be no younger than 11 and no older than 19 on July 1, 2017. For Rescue Line and Rescue Maze in the USA, 8-10 year old students are allowed to join Open teams, but they will not be allowed to continue with the team if it is invited to participate in the RoboCupJunior 2017 international championships in Nagoya, Japan.
TEAM SIZE
The maximum team size for the Soccer and Rescue leagues is six members. There is no maximum team size for the OnStage league. At the international competition, however, the maximum team size is five members for all three leagues. Should a USA team with more than five members qualify for internationals, they will need to leave members off the team for the international event in order to bring the team total to the required five members.
COMPETITION RULES
Please remember to check the competition rules in the Team Resources section of this site. The USA rules deviate somewhat from the international rules. In addition, teams may have interpretation questions about various rules, to which the league chairs may respond via updates posted under Team Resources.
